We had a smashing day in the sun at Stragglethorpe Corner today. Many thanks to Martyn Little, Marc Roberts, Phil Armstrong, Al Bateson, Dave Causer, John and Jill Hartley, Ken Winter, Shane Dunkley, Dan Allen, Mark Hodson, Glynn Dale, and Martin Kiszel (Just yell if I forgot anybody, my memory is awful nowadays!) for turning out on the day for a mix of site introduction, site maintenance, and a bit of flying to boot! I think the site is going down well with everyone who has visited so far. We managed also to get the mower blades fined tuned so the grass is very nicely cropped now, a bit more of concrete pan tidying, and removed the sign post near the end of the strip that ‘nobody would ever crash into’. We’ve had a few more suggestions, including for a club summer camping/flying weekend which I think would work well, and also the possibility of getting start-up benches akin to the ones at Buckminster, which my knees would definitely appreciate!
We finished with Phil landing his Moth before heading off for tea.
